Opera Rara will release it’s recording of Mercadante’s masterpiece in the Spring of 2023. Irene joined Maestro Carlo Rizzi, tenors Ramon Vargas and Iván Ayón Rivas, and mezzo-soprano Elizabeth DeShong in a studio recording with the Britten Philharmonia at Harry Wood Hall in London. Following the recording process the team gave the first performance of the opera since it’s premiere in 1842 at London’s Barbican Hall.
